The Philosophy
I used to think being a 'thinker' was a strength. But I’ve come to believe that constant thinking creates unnecessary suffering. When we are lost in our thoughts—fueled by fear, ego, and resentment—we cut ourselves off from the Spirit. We get locked in a head prison with anxiety and depression.
The Man in the Back stays grounded in the present—anchored to a Higher Power. He listens for the far off sounds, gets anchored to breath, and watches life through clear eyes, not tangled up in fear, assumptions, and resentments. He is the calm, confident version of you who is free from thought and the noise of the ego. He doesn't have to prove himself anymore; he stands in the chaos of the world and relies on a strength beyond his own to find his way.
The Weekly Rhythm
True transformation requires a lifestyle of alignment. Our work centers on a weekly in-person experience that anchors your progress.
Tuesday Nights at SOAR Gym (60–90 Minutes) Every Tuesday, our cohort meets to bridge the gap between the physical and the spiritual. We don't just lift; we train and learn and process.
Physical Coaching: You will be coached on technical barbell movements to ensure your mechanics are sharp and your progress is steady.
The Curriculum: We process The Man in the Back curriculum, nutrition, and the honest reality of what is happening in your life: mentally, physically, and spiritually.
The Program Design: This session sets the stage for your individualized training program that you will carry out for the remainder of the week. (A physical and spiritual program of action).
The Holistic Collective
Individualized Programming: Beyond our weekly meeting, you follow a custom-written gym and spiritual training program designed for your specific goals, managed through a dedicated App where we stay linked for accountability and feedback throughout the week (weekly program sent out on Sunday nights).
Clinical Wellness (Mark Deis, NP): Access to professional medical oversight. Mark can review your blood work and labs to optimize hormones and address any medical or medication questions.
Nutrition (Autumn Hawkins): Specialized nutritional coaching to fuel your transformation, ensuring your physical output is matched by what you put into your body.
Movement & Scenery
We escape the head prison through movement—both in the gym and in the wild. You will be led on guided prayer and reading experiences in scenery, learning to find God while moving in sunshine. These outdoor experiences are designed to reconnect your body to its spiritual purpose and align your daily actions with your deepest values. Movement in scenery helps us to flip the script and find gratitude as we set the deep intention to be the observers of our thoughts. (Present Moment Protection Walks).
The Logistics
Cohort Size: Limited to 5 men.
Duration: 6-month minimum commitment to the path.
Support: 24/7 access to the group App for ongoing mentorship.
Investment: $500 per month.
